A stash file is a method for storing IBM CMOD passwords in a more secure manner than previous versions.
Prior to IBM Content Manager OnDemand v9.0, passwords could be issued at the command line, where they might be visible to other users on the system in the server's Process List.
In IBM CMOD v9.5, the server will produce warnings if you use passwords on the command line, to encourage you to use a stash file instead.
Stash files are created with the IBM CMOD arsstash command, and contain an encrypted copy of the password for different uses (like arsload, or LDAP authentication).
